Hoppo was Ben's little brown rabbit. She lived outside in a cage,on the grass.

Every morning,Ben put new straw in Hoppo's house.

He pulled some carrots out of the garden for Hoppo's breakfast.

Then he put her back into the cage for the night.

One night it started to rain. It rained all night long.
一天晚上，天开始下雨。雨下了一整夜。
It was still raining in the morning when Dad went to work.
当爸爸早上去上班时还在下雨。
Ben woke up and looked outside.
本醒来后看外面。
There was water all over the grass.
草丛上都是水。
“Mum!” shouted Ben.
本叫喊着，妈妈。
“There's a flood outside. The water could go into Hoppo's house! She will get all wet and cold.”
外面出现了洪水。水有可能进入Hoppo的房子里。她会淋水，她会感到冷。
“Oh, dear !”said Mum.
妈妈说哦！
“We will have to move the cage out of the water.”
我们必须把笼子从水中移走。
“Hurry!” cried Ben.
本说快点。
“We have to save Hoppo!”

Ben and Mum got dressed in a hurry. They went outside.
本和妈妈马上穿好衣服。他们出去了。
“We are coming, Hoppo!” called Ben.
本叫喊着，我们来了，Hoppo！
Ben ran to Hoppo's cage.
本跑向Hoppo的笼子。
The water was just coming in the door of her house.
水正在向门屋里渗入。
Ben tried to move the cage,but it was too heavy.
本试图移动笼子，但是笼子太重了。
“Wait ,Ben !” called Mum. “I'll pull the cage.”
妈妈叫喊到，等等本。我移动笼子。
“I'll take Hoppo out first ,” said Ben.
本说，我先将Hoppo拿出来。
“Then she won't be scared when you move the cage.”
这样在移动笼子时，它就不会害怕。
Ben picked Hoppo up and held her in his arms. He patted her.
本将Hoppo拿起，将她抱在胳臂里。他拍打着她。
Mum pulled the cage out of the water.
妈妈将笼子从水中移开。
She pulled it across the grass and up to the big tree.

Ben put Hoppo back in her cage.

“Now you will be safe ,”he said.

Ben looked at Hoppo's wet house.
本看着Hoppo那湿漉漉的房子。
“I'll get you some dry straw ,”he said to her.
他对Hoppo说，我会给你那些干稻草。
“And I'll get her some breakfast ,”said Mum.
妈妈说，我会给她拿早点。
“This is a better place for Hoppo's cage ,”said Ben.
本说，这里是放Hoppo笼子的理想去处。
“Now Hoppo won't get wet every time it rains.”
这样，Hoppo就不会每次下雨都淋湿了。
